Payment changes put the foundations of professional resale in focus. We see support for investing early in documented operations and European fulfilment. Actual orders, costs and cash receipts must still establish commercial viability.

1. Wallet migration and identity checks

Vinted announced its wallet rollout on 14 January 2026. A 3 September Händlerbund report describes new terms from 5 October in the markets discussed, with Pro sellers excluded from that payment switch. Check the notice for your country and account.

Section 5 of the French Vinted Pay terms requires KYC at wallet opening and permits further information requests. This establishes compliance obligations; it does not show that every user must repeat verification or quantify an increase in enforcement.

2. What the Pro exception covers

The reported exception concerns this payment migration. Section 1 of the French Vinted Pay terms excludes professional use. That supports a distinction between payment arrangements, without guaranteeing unchanged Pro services everywhere.

Pro sellers should maintain the records requested by their own provider. French Pro catalogue rules also restrict wholesale resale and large volumes of new goods. Pro status alone does not establish inventory eligibility.

3. Why we invest in professional operations

Our assessment is that clear ownership, responsibilities and records become more useful as transactions receive closer scrutiny. Preparing these foundations can reduce time spent reconstructing information during checks or disputes.

ColisVinted focuses on connecting item records, inventory, European dispatch and returns. The payment changes support the rationale for this work. They are not an endorsement of our service; channel eligibility, sell-through, costs and net cash receipts still determine project viability.

4. Apply the insight to the next batch

Start with a small operational review before expanding. These are our recommendations; the account notice determines the required verification steps.

  • Confirm your market, account type, payment provider and notice deadline.
  • Keep business and payout details accurate and submit requested documents through official channels.
  • Connect item provenance, condition, stock and orders; check channel eligibility.
  • Review a pilot batch using handling costs, returns, turnover and actual cash receipts.

Put it into practice

Stronger compliance supports preparing professional operations early. Build reliable records, then demonstrate viability through real trading results.
